The Los Angeles Lakers have lost their first fives games of the 2014-2015 season, and Kobe Bryant is averaging 24.4 shots to get his 27.6 points per game. But ever the optimist, Magic Johnson still really likes this team. Unfortunately, the blind nepotism in these tweets offered by the Lakers legend surely only make things more depressing for purple-and-gold clad fans across the globe.
I know the Lakers are 0-5, but they are playing exciting basketball and Kobe is worth the price of admission.

Talk about glass half full.
Here’s a quick and dirty rundown of why watching the Lakers is arguably the most miserable NBA experience available:
They rank 27th in assist rate; boast the league’s worst defense by a whopping 5.9 points per 100 possessions; attempt fewer three-pointers per game than all but two teams in basketball; allow opponents a league-worst average of 34.2 free throw attempts; hoist more long twos on a nightly basis than every team but the New York Knicks; have yet to silence Carlos Boozer’s yelps and yells; and play multiple, barely replacement level guys like Wes Johnson and Ronnie Price well over 20 minutes a contest.
Undeterred by reality, Magic wasn’t done:
Kobe should also be in the early MVP talks with LeBron, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis, Carmelo, Curry, Thompson and Rose.

LeBron James, who’s played two of the worst games of his prime in the past week and openly admitted to being disengaged as a means of leadership, for MVP! Derrick Rose, who hasn’t played half of the Chicago Bulls’ four games thus far due to sprained ankles, for MVP! Kobe Bryant, who’s putting up career-low efficiency numbers across the board while playing for the worst team in the league, for MVP!

MVP!
