Midway through OKC’s 131-108 beatdown of the Clippers yesterday, Steven Adams fractured his right hand. The only problem? He still had to take the free throws and he’s right-handed. To Adams’ credit, he knocked down the second attempt using only his left hand.
This is some solid form, but doubly so when you know he’s shooting with his weak hand:
The tough Aussie center in his second season, knocked down the second free throw and immediately sprinted into the locker room where he was given X-rays before the team determined it was fractured.
Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman says Adams is expected to miss three weeks recovering from the fracture, but we guess he could probably play tomorrow if they needed him badly enough. Dvde is one tough Kiwi and borderline ambidextrous.

Per the Thunder’s release, Adams underwent successful surgery today to fix the fracture in his right hand:
Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams underwent successful surgery today to address a fracture in the fourth metacarpal of his right hand, Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced.
The procedure was performed by Thunder team physicians at McBride Hospital in Oklahoma City. Adams will be re-evaluated in three weeks, at which time a further update will be provided.
In his 12 minutes before the injury, Adams had five points (2/3), two rebounds, an assist and two blocks.
