Look where Russell Westbrook is when this play begins.
He catches the ball below the opponent’s free throw line and several feet behind Pau Gasol. He’s past the Spanish superstar after one dribble, and ready to attack Tony Snell and Kirk Hinrch on the opposite three-point line following one more bounce. Russ gets his shoulder past Snell’s with an easy easy hesitation dribble, then uses another before exploding to the rim so quickly that Nikola Mirotic and Mike Dunleavy can’t get effective contests.
Two points in just under four seconds for the Oklahoma City Thunder as Westbrook leaves all five Chicago Bulls helpless.
He’s been doing it all game, too. Westbrook has 36 points, five rebounds, and seven assists early in the fourth quarter, helping the Thunder to a 91-83 lead over the Bulls.
