Sometimes you just can’t miss.
Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler scored nine points in the opening quarter of Game 4 against the Milwaukee Bucks, spurring his team to a 23-19 lead. But Tom Thiboeau’s leading scorer was forced to the bench in the second stanza after picking up a foul, and the home team – facing elimination, remember – promptly went on a 21-5 run that put it up 40-30 with just under six minutes left before halftime.
That’s when Butler took over again.
The 25 year-old scored 14 points in the final minutes of the second quarter, finally erasing his team’s double-digit deficit to tie the score at 50-50 with this banked-in angle three-pointer as the game clock buzzer sounded. Butler finished the first half with a game-high 23 points.
He’s added five more in the third quarter as the Bulls and Bucks trade leads a couple minutes before the fourth quarter. Based on his play so far, don’t be shocked if Butler leads Chicago to a series-clinching win in crunch-time. Obviously, he has the hot hand.
