Seeing how all of this craziness transpired mostly via Twitter, it seemed only appropriate that DeAndre Jordan would return to the social media sphere to break his proverbial silence and prostrate himself for how he handled things after reneging on his agreement with the Mavs in order to return to the Clippers.
I want to publicly apologize to one of the best owners in the world @MCuban, the @DallasMavs and their fans.

I am humbled by @DallasMavs & @MCuban kindness and understanding. I am sorry to have a change of heart.

That’s likely to ring hollow among the franchise and their fan base, not to mention his would-be teammates (free agent recruiter extraordinaire Chandler Parsons is taking it particularly hard). What’s more, this debacle could potentially have consequences on how the league ultimately handles the free agent moratorium period moving forward.
But for spectators, it was well worth it, especially considering that its byproducts were a bizarrely-entertaining emoji showdown and an ignited feud between Cuban and oft-embattled ESPN “reporter” Chris Broussard.
