Alexey Shved is not a good basketball player — let’s just get this out of the way right now. Yet even the worst players can come up with some pretty awesome moments, like he does here with this…I’m not even completely sure what this is. Hook shot? Over-the-shoulder-flip? Hopeless prayer?
Whatever it is, it’s amazing, and a highlight moment for an otherwise depressing New York Knicks season. Shved’s averaging 13.4 points per game for this Knicks team, the highest of his career. But he’s also shooting 39.3 percent, and you can only average double-figures for the NBA’s worst team if you’re connecting on shots under the Jason Kidd line.
