Late March is typically the doldrums of the NBA season. Playoff races are mostly decided, games have little meaning, and everyone’s just waiting for the postseason to begin. Rarely does anything exciting happen, which is why we owe Rudy Gobert and Andrew Wiggins a great debt.
Wiggins already dunked on Gobert once in the game, but he decided once wasn’t good enough. He went back for more, and the second dunk was even better than the first. Wiggins is normally about as expressive as Kawhi Leonard, but this time he decided to put an exclamation point on his dunk with a little flexing.
Too much of a good thing, however, can get even the likely Rookie of the Year in trouble. Wiggins went for a third dunk on Gobert, but this time the Stifle Tower stood tall.
Gobert apparently didn’t take too kindly to Wiggins’ showboating (or, at least what qualifies as showboating for Wiggins) and flexed right back.
These are two of the most exciting young players in the NBA, and seeing as how they play in the same conference, this probably won’t be the last time we get a showdown between these two.
