Chicago’s Head Coach Didn’t Seem To Know Which Lopez Brother They Got For Derrick Rose

One of the biggest deals prior to last week’s NBA Draft came when the Chicago Bulls dealt Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday and a 2017 second-round pick to the New York Knicks. In exchange, the Knicks sent back Jerian Grant, Jose Calderon, and one of the Lopez twins.

Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg was very excited about that last piece, saying that he’s very ready to coach Brook Lopez. That’s understandable, as Brook Lopez is a very good basketball player. Unfortunately, there happens to be one big problem: he’s not the Lopez brother that Hoiberg will be coaching.

Welp.

That’s a pretty embarrassing mixup, but one can only hope Chicago had better sense and knew they’d be getting Robin and not Brook when they agreed to make the deal. That confusion would presumably be easy to avoid considering Brook plays for the Brooklyn Nets, but you never know.
