The Butler Bulldog, named Blue III, must have had a case of the butterflies prior to Butler’s Big East quarterfinal game against Xavier on Thursday, as he had trouble keeping down his chow and proceeded to vomit right in the middle of the Madison Square Garden court. Members of the Butler squad couldn’t help but laugh when they realized what their mascot had done. Afterwards, Blue III took to Twitter to explain what happened.

See? He was just amped up for a big game. It’s really nothing to be ashamed of. You may recall that prior to his injury, it used to happen to amateur hockey star Doug Dorsey before he’d go out there and dominate. In fact, according to the book Bill Russell: A Biography, Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell did so before almost every game, so Blue III is in great company. And just like the legends before him, Blue III was able to rally from his pregame jitters.
