The NBA season is upon us, and by the looks of it, DeMarcus Cousins is in mid-season, referee-berating form. The Kings’ big man let out a few expletives after blocking rookie Willie Cauley-Stein twice during this inter-squad scrimmage. Clearly upset at the notion he fouled the rookie, Boogie simply walks away and the video ends before he ever returns from behind the partition separating courts at University of California, San Diego. I think it’s better that the video ended there, it’s almost like Boogie’s disdain with the ref forced him into exile.
While many want DeMarcus to cut down on the techs, maybe that’s not necessary since the 2015 All-Star plays better after he gets them. Remember last year when he set a goal of just five technical fouls for the season? Ha!
Well, he almost tripled that number with 14 technicals in 2014-15, but after preventing Mike Malone from getting one early in the season, we can understand why Boogie might have been a little pissed off last season, too. There’s been no technical talk this fall, so maybe Boogie realized he shouldn’t put a muzzle on his natural intensity.
As for why he was so fiery in a meaningless scrimmage at the start of training camp? It might be because DeMarcus is just always on level five, ready to explode at any moment? Or, maybe he was antsy to get the rookie back after he did this to one of his shots a few days ago.

Apparently the man they call Trill has been running roughshod in the paint at Kings’ camp because he got Rudy Gay as well.

Boogie technicals? Willie Trill blocking shots with his armpits? Maybe the Kings will be a force to reckon with this season. In training camp and preseason, everyone’s looking like a playoff team.
