So, back when Draymond Green kicked Andre Roberson in the face after twice kicking Steven Adams in the junk, we joked that he had Flailing Leg Syndrome (FLS), but you guys, he might actually, seriously have a problem. Guess what he did in Game 1 of the Finals? He kicked someone again!
Draymond probably flopped on the play, considering that he stood up to LeBron James post-ups yet somehow flew backwards thanks to one Kyrie Irving hand. It makes the flying leg less excusable since it’s not like he was in a gale-force wind, but it still isn’t convincingly intentional. It’s clear we need to do more research on FLS, which is a more advanced version of Restless Leg Syndrome that only affects peak athletes with otherwise impeccable control of their bodies. Symptoms of FLS (besides the obvious) can also include complete unwillingness to acknowledge fault or even that there may be a problem:
“If I was aware of something, I wouldn’t do it,” he said. “But basketball is basketball, and bodies react a certain type of way. I don’t really mind any scrutiny. It doesn’t bother me. I’m going to still live my life and do everything I do the same way and not lose any sleep. So life goes on.”
Jeez, Draymond. At least tell people you’ll look into trying not to kick so many people. The next flying kick could get you suspended for a game, which is kind of a big deal, so try to get your FLS under control.
