The Charlotte Hornets beat the Miami Heat 89-85 on Monday to even the teams’ suddenly competitive first-round series at two games apiece. While Kemba Walker’s 34 points and Charlotte’s suffocating defense will dominate discussion about Game 4, it was a pair of offensive rebounds by Courtney Lee in the final minute that kept Miami from the chance to steal a victory on the road.
Shortly after the game, Gabrielle Union – wife of Dwyane Wade, remember – bemoaned the Heat’s failure to corral their opponent’s misses down the stretch.
In other news… I'll be outside working on rebounding if anyone needs me #2ndchancereboundsareakillah

Related: Lee was being guarded by Wade on each of his crunch-time offensive boards. Shade.
The Hornets, by the way, were credited with just six offensive rebounds for the entire game. Score keepers didn’t account for Lee keeping the ball alive on the play featured above because he was fouled before officially grabbing the ball.
Also, it bears mentioning that it’s a possibility Union was expressing displeasure with Miami’s team-wide effort on the defensive glass as opposed to Wade’s specifically. On the other hand, it’s also undeniable that Charlotte’s pair of offensive rebounds while the outcome hung in the balance loom larger than the several others it grabbed over the game’s duration.
Even more obvious? That Wade deserves more criticism than his teammates for Lee’s hustling heroics in the final minute, a harsh reality that Union seems to fully comprehend.
