The Celtics are in a bit of a slump right now having lost three straight, including a bad loss on Sunday night to the lowly Magic. It’s not a complete disaster in Boston, but things certainly aren’t going especially well and the team could use a little good news as a pick-me-up right now.
Enter Gordon Hayward. The injured superstar is still in the midst of rehab from his horrific ankle injury in the Celtics’ opener back in October, and while he might not play this season (although he’d like to), every positive update on his health gives fans a little boost in optimism.
Our latest update on Hayward comes from his wife, Robyn, who posted video of her husband hoisting set shots from three-point range. Hayward isn’t jumping on his shots and the video isn’t showing him do much in the way of movement, but considering he was shooting from a chair not too long ago, this is great to see.
It’s good to see Hayward knocking down some shots, even if he’s not able to use his normal jump shot form just yet as he works to build strength in that ankle again. Being able to be back on the court and shooting is probably as good for Hayward mentally as it as physically, as he’s detailed how difficult it’s been for him having to be away from basketball and the depression that he’s dealt with since the injury.
