Kevin Durant is a big fan of Kyle Kuzma’s Summer League performance and attitude. The Golden State Warriors superstar gave a shout out to the Los Angeles Lakers’ surprise Summer League star after seeing a photo Kuzma posted after LA won the Las Vegas Summer League championship game on Monday.
Kuzma was the MVP of that game, and afterward he posted in image of himself in the Lakers locker room holding the championship and MVP trophy.
“You can call me anything but don’t forget to call me an MVP and a CHAMP,” he wrote.
Durant later mentioned the image on Twitter, paraphrasing Kuzma’s comments about winning MVP and a championship at the same time and adding his own approval.
Oh yea "you can call me anything but don't forget to call me an MVP and a champ"-Kuzma

Considering Durant did exactly that on a much larger scale a month earlier, it’s no wonder he’s fond of Kuzma’s thinking. Even better, Kuzma saw Durant’s tweet and quickly gave his own series of emojis to confirm that they are all on the same page.

It’s easy to be supportive in the summer, but very soon Durant will be competing a very young Lakers team that includes Kuzma and Lonzo Ball, who was named Summer League MVP as well. Something tells me once the season starts all those Summer League awards will matter a lot less to Kuzma, and definitely a lot less to Durant.
