The Internet Roasted Kyrie Irving For Shaving His Beard And Kyrie Responded

Kyrie Irving shaved his beard off and he knows the jokes are coming. He’s not happy about it, but he knows the truth as much as the rest of us: it looks super weird.

The Cleveland Cavaliers point guard says he needs to be clean-shaven for the next three weeks, but he’s going to try to be as inconspicuous as possible until he can grow his beard back. It didn’t help when a photo of him hit the Twitter on Thursday.

Kyrie responded to the Tweet — and the jokes that followed — on Snapchat, saying he knew the jokes were coming.

“This is life for a few more weeks,” the caption said on his first Snap.

“Get it out now. It’s fine. It’s fine,” Irving said in the video. He doesn’t exactly explain why he had to shave, though he does mention “prosthetics” so maybe he’s filming some kind of commercial that requires lots of practical effects wizardry. Still, he says he knew the jokes are inevitable.

“I’m accepting them,” Irving said. “Because if this was anybody else I would be firing jokes at them. But I’ll be the butt of everybody’s jokes.”

Don’t worry, Kyrie, plenty of people went in on you. The consensus is that Kyrie either looks extremely old or extremely young with no facial hair. Here’s one for team old.

Team young seems to be coming from his Snapchat, where the lighting does indeed make him look like a precocious toddler.

This one wasn’t too kind to Uncle Drew.

I know this isn’t exactly a roast but he does look young as hell here.

Enjoy this version of Kyrie Irving while it lasts, because something tells me he’ll be growing a beard in time for the regular season to start.
