For all the talk about Wednesday being Kobe Bryant‘s final game, there’s a bit of irony in that there’s nearly zero buzz about the game itself. This makes sense, of course. The Lakers are b-a-d bad and the Jazz are praying Houston drops its home game against the Kings just to slip into the final spot in the playoffs. As far as compelling games go, this one is pretty far down the list. Sure, loads of fans will tune into the pre-game events, and perhaps the final few minutes, but the in-between stuff? Don’t be surprised if most switch over to Golden State’s game as they go for win No. 73.
And the video above perfectly and hilariously demonstrates why that’ll be the case. The Lakers have been a comedy of errors this season and even Bryant isn’t immune to the lampooning. The video digs into the off-court stuff, too — namely the fiasco with D’Angelo Russell and Nick Young. The whole thing is set to “One Shining Moment,” which, while a classic, also lends itself to parodies fairly easily.
Anyway, enjoy tonight’s game between the Lakers and Jazz. Or just watch Kobe get his well-deserved goodbye and catch the Cliff’s Notes version in the video above. Either or.
