This year’s NBA Finals have been filled with highs and lows. It’s like both teams are sitting on each end of a balancing scale and they’re never even at the same time.

The series has ultimately come down to Game 7 on Sunday night, and the Warriors frustration at their inability to close out this series was highly visible towards the end of Game 6.

In the middle of the fourth quarter, Curry — who had been in foul trouble most of the game — fouled out and threw his mouthguard, which accidentally hit a fan. Steph immediately apologized to the fan, but will that be enough?

ESPN.com reminds us that in 2006 Udonis Haslem threw his mouthguard in the direction of referee Joey Crawford in Game 1 of their first -ound series against the Chicago Bulls and was suspended for Game 2.

Haslem, like Curry, was immediately ejected after the incident and was very apologetic afterwards, even calling NBA VP Stu Jackson to plead his case. But it wasn’t enough and he was still suspended.

What does this mean for the Warriors? It’s hard to say. Obviously, the major difference here is Haslem was a role player getting suspended for Game 2 in the first round and Steph is the two-time MVP of the league and it’s Game 7 of the Finals. It’s highly likely the league won’t suspend Steph, but it’s still worth noting a player has been penalized by suspension for a similar on-court incident in the playoffs.
