The record for three-pointers made in a NBA game is 12; it’s shared by Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall. The record for triples in a single quarter is nine, one set by Klay Thompson during his 37-point explosion in the third quarter of a game last season against the Sacramento Kings.
It’s unclear at this point if Steph Curry will break his fellow Splash Brother’s mark for triples or points in a 12-minute period. We’re also not totally confident that the Golden State Warriors superstar will even break the incredible precedent set by Bryant and Marshall.
But if his seven three-pointers and 25 points in the first quarter on Wednesday evening against the Washington Wizards are an indication of what’s to come over the game’s remainder, the league might as well prepare to rewrite the history books.
