Is LeBron James the best athlete in the world? As Steve Kerr so keenly pointed out on Tuesday night, it might depend on your definition of “athlete.”
After watching The King lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a crucial win over his team in Game 3 with 40 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, the Golden State Warriors coach was asked the question to which there seems no other viable answer. Ever witty despite the circumstances, though, Kerr came up with a certain mammal that might be James’ superior athletically: American Pharaoh.
Steve Kerr was asked if LeBron was best athlete: "Can you find another one?" Kerr said. "Maybe American Pharoah?"

Okay, so the Triple Crown winner is probably just a bit faster than the 6’8, 250-pound superhuman. But can he start and stop? Make hard lateral cuts? Drain a jumper? Will a severely undermanned team to a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals against a 67-win opponent?
Doubtful.
