The 2013 NBA Draft was possibly the wildest we’ve ever seen. It beat Darko getting selected ahead of Carmelo. It beat Kwame going No. 1. It beat Stephon Marbury crying, Jalen Rose‘s suit and even the whole Steve Francis/Vancouver debacle. It was pure entertainment, right from the very beginning.
From Anthony Bennett at No. 1 to Bebe‘s hair, here’s how the draft broke down in social media…

With The No. 1 Pick, The Cleveland Cavaliers Select… Anthony Bennett…
ESPN analyst Bill Simmons told Rece Davis he needed medical help because he was so surprised…
Majority of Cavs front office prefers Anthony Bennett, but who does Chris Grant want? Could be Nerlens Noel, Ben McLemore or Alex Len.

Jeff Goodman beats Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) to the punch:
Cleveland picks Anthony Bennett with the No. 1 pick.

Skip hating, as usual…
I didn't see enough of Anthony Bennett, but what I did see didn't scream No. 1 overall. Bizarre pick.

Wowwwww …. Draft changer right there …..congrats to Anthony Bennett

With the No. 2 Pick, the Orlando Magic select… Victor Oladipo…
Let the #Orlandipo Marketing campaign begin!
#Magic select Victor Oladipo at No. 2. Could make for a super athletic backcourt if they trade for Eric Bledsoe.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
Oladipo got a lot of love from his new teammate on the wings in Orlando, Moe Harkless…

With the No. 3 pick, the Washington Wizards select… Otto Porter Jr…
Shout out to Otto porter apart of the FAME family going number 3….
— Jared Sullinger (@Jared_Sully0) June 27, 2013
Welcome back to DC Otto Porter (@ottop) We think you know your way around town! Another Hoya in the NBA as OP goes No.3 to the Wizards.

With the No. 4 pick, the Charlotte Bobcats select… Cody Zeller…
Cody Zeller is the classic combine star, long on "measure-ables," short on dominant tape vs high-caliber competition. Will never live up.
— Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) June 28, 2013
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
Unfortunately, with Nerlens Noel, Ben McLemore and Alex Len on the board, this could end up being another “Michael Jordan Lottery Special.” Don’t bring this one up with Charlotte fans.
Drafting Cody Zeller over Nerlens Noel and Ben McLemore is such a Charlotte Bobcats pick. Zeller is a nice guy, but they'll regret that one.

With the No. 5 pick, the Phoenix Suns select… Alex Len…
Suns swingman Jared Dudley was anxious to get the pick over with:
Who are the suns going to take?!!!!!!!! Lots of options!!!!!!!!

With the No. 6 pick, the New Orleans Pelicans select… Nerlens Noel…
Did you see the UK nod in Noel’s suit? We thought it was pretty cool until we realized just about every damn player in the green room did the same thing.
//platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js
The Pelicans lock up their interior defense by pairing Noel and Anthony Davis.

If you have the No. 1 pick you don't draft by need. You take the best player. And the best player in this draft is Ben McLemore.
