There are about a million ways to describe Tim Duncan’s career in the NBA, but the easiest thing to say is that it’s been remarkable. Duncan has done just about everything since he came into the league in 1998, and his consistent brilliance over that time is mind-blowing.
One thing Duncan has never done is go through an entire game and not grab a rebound. Well, at least that was the case up until Friday night, when The Big Fundamental didn’t clean up the boards at all for the first time in his professional career.
Tim Duncan has played 1,343 career regular-season games.
Tonight was his 1st in which he didn't record a rebound.

As a team, San Antonio snagged 43 rebounds during its 104-90 loss to New Orleans. In fact, San Antonio played 13 players in total against the Pelicans, and everyone except for Duncan and 7’3 Boban Marjanovic pulled down at least one rebound. That includes guys like Tony Parker (five rebounds), Kyle Anderson (three rebounds), Ray McCallum (two rebounds), and Jonathan Simmons (one rebound) having more success on the glass than the guy with the seventh-most rebounds in NBA history.
In Duncan’s defense, he only played 19 minutes and had to go up against Anthony Davis, who had 18 rebounds in the game. Plus Duncan has played in 1,342 regular season basketball games where he’s grabbed a rebound, so you can’t really complain if he goes rebound-less one time.
