DeAndre Jordan provided more aerial highlights in the Los Angeles Clippers’ win over the Utah Jazz last night, but Trevor Booker’s tip dunk might be just as impressive as any of them. Talk about style – catch, cock, get even more elevation, emphatically slam through with a quick celebratory flex. Jordan’s jams will get more attention, but this is our favorite dunk from a game rife with worthy candidates.
Booker was instrumental to Utah’s second-half comeback. The springy, undersized power forward scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds in 27 minutes off the bench, exhibiting new touch from deep by going 2-3 from beyond the arc. Prior to this season, Booker had made just a single three-pointer in his career; through the first four games of 2014-2015, he’s 5-10 on long-range tries.
A stretch 4 that provides paint toughness and can finish way, way above the rim? Booker might prove a bigger free agency boon for the Jazz than anyone thought.
