We’ve been hearing a lot about Ghostbusters 3, and with reason: It’s a killer cast. But the same information also includes rumor of a spin-off starring Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt.
Like all rumors, it’s a bit unformed and deserves to be sprinkled with a few grains of salt. That said, according to the Daily Beast, it’d be a side project coming together largely because, uh, Tatum really likes Ghostbusters and wants to be in a movie with his friend Chris Pratt. He’s even got the Russo brothers, directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, committed to producing.
Tatum has some fairly high ambitions: The title Batman Begins gets thrown around a few times. It’s fairly clear that this is still mostly in the idea stage and a script hasn’t been written yet. On the other hand, it’s hard to see a movie studio turning down C-Tates and Star-Lord hanging out in a movie together, even if they just talk about their feelings for ninety minutes with their shirts off. Throw in a few explosions and/or jokes, and you’ve pretty much got a guaranteed hit. So, even if they don’t ultimately wind up bagging ghosts, expect Pratt and Tatum to be in a buddy comedy sooner rather than later.
