According to his Instagram, Hugh Jackman will play Wolverine for the final time.
Variety reports that this likely means Jackman’s adamantium swan song will be in The Wolverine 2, the sequel to 2013’s The Wolverine, meaning he won’t appear in X-Men: Apocalypse, which will serve as Jennifer Lawrence’s farewell to the franchise. This may also mean he won’t appear in Deadpool. The Wolverine 2 will be released next March.
Jackman presumably wants to leave the franchise so he can finally enjoy ice cream in peace without harming those eternal and ageless abs.
