Guardians of the Galaxy proved that even the most curmudgeonly filmgoer can be charmed by Chris Pratt’s pelvic sorcery and a heavily-armed talking raccoon. Thus, James Gunn has a lot of leeway to throw in whoever he wants for his next movie, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to include every character.

Also of interest is Gunn’s most recent Facebook Q&A, where, among other things, we learn he had to fight for Yondu to be a badass, and he explains how Star-Lord got batteries to run his Walkman.
This still, of course, leaves open what characters we might see in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. But we have to save something for the trailer.
