Let’s not go into this without acknowledging that the mememakers and the Twitter wit assassins had their work cut out for them with yesterday’s release of the second Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer. For one thing, they really outdid themselves last time around. The Costanza lightsaber bat? Desert Doakes? Amazingly, though, the internet managed to roll out some pretty funny stuff thanks to Darth Vader’s deformed mask, the ball-droid, and the enduring appeal of Jar Jar humor.
I’m not saying these memes and tweets are as good as last time, but there was a shocking lack of Goonies and Harry and the Hendersons‘ references back then, and we’re able to check off the Seinfeld box once again.

There’s a good chance this movie would already be in theaters if J.J. Abrams didn’t have to deal with George Lucas’ incessant notes…

I hope the crashed Star Destroyer in the #StarWars trailer has been converted into live/work artist’s lofts & a food co-op.
