Entertainment Weekly has a big cover story for X-Men: Apocalypse following its big showing at Comic-Con 2015, giving a very clear look at the cast in their full X-Men garb. This includes Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, letting us lay eyes on the ancient villain in an official fashion for the first time.

The knee jerk reaction here is that Apocalypse looks silly and hardly like the threat he’s supposed to be. But I have been trying to hold back on making judgments based on things we’ve seen before the movie hits theaters. Look at what happened with Quicksilver in Days of Future Past. He looked terribly silly in the first images, but then ended up with the best scene in the film.

We also got a nice look at Olivia Munn in her Psylocke outfit — sans lube — and it certainly looks a lot like the early ’90s comic book version. I’m wondering how it’s going to work in motion, though.
You can check out the rest in Entertainment Weekly or over here, including a close look at Nightcrawler, Cyclops and a flannel clad Magneto in his grunge phase.
