This teaser actually has two bits of very important new footage.
First, the clip of Rey and BB-8 on what sure looks a hell of a lot like Endor. Considering that it’s all but confirmed Wicket is in the movie, it would seem that our cast will be heading there to deal with whoever is raiding Vader’s funeral pyre for goodies. We’re guessing that’ll be one Kylo Ren.
The second clip is that shot of Kylo Ren and his busted lightsaber we’ve seen before… and John Boyega’s Finn pulling out a lightsaber of his own, with a blue blade. And, if you look closely? It appears to be Luke’s lightsaber from A New Hope, which you might remember popped up in the Force Awakens trailer early on.
It also happens to be in that same snowy forest we saw in the original teaser, so it seems that Finn and Kylo Ren will be getting it a good old-fashioned lightsaber battle. Something worth considering is whether or not this particular forest might be another part of Endor. It would make sense, after all. We’ll find out one way or the other in December.
