Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters is rumored to be dropping its first trailer during the Super Bowl in the lead up to the movie’s release on July 15, 2016. In the meantime, we finally have a first look at Chris Hemsworth as our Annie Potts to this gender-swapped ghostbusting posse.
As with the original films, the secretary is somebody hot with glasses on. In Hollywood, this is what passes for nerdy. Not that I’m complaining. Chris Hemsworth is easy on the eyes and already showed off some good comedic timing in Vacation and his self-serious role as Thor. Considering the gold director Paul Feig got out of Jason Statham in Spy, it’ll be interesting to see what funny moments Hemsworth can put forth. And if that doesn’t work, I don’t know, he could take his shirt off again? Just spitballing here.
Sony also released four new pictures of the titular Ghostbusters. We’ve already seen Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon pose with the Ecto 1, assemble in green light, and show off their gear. These new photos show them in their civilian garb. I’m already totally sold on Kate McKinnon’s dorky character.
