It seems that Jason Momoa is the unofficial spokesman for the DC Cinematic Universe these days, and, really, they should just salary the guy and make it official. Especially because he’s pretty good at dropping hints without saying anything specific.
At the Dallas Comic-Con, according to Heroic Hollywood, Momoa was of course asked about Aquaman, which is probably third in questions he’s asked next to “Can you speak Dothraki?” and “Were the sex scenes real?” Anyway, here’s what he had to say:
So, there’s not really a lot of spoilers I can give away. But the research I’ve done on the New 52 stuff with Geoff Johns. But I’m excited about…there’s a big beautiful map laid out and I wish I could carry it with me. It’ll come out soon enough and you’ll see just how big it’s going to be.
Of note, Johns is both Aquaman’s biggest fan and the Chief Creative Officer for DC Comics; in other words, Momoa’s had a lot of face time with the guy who runs the DCU, and that tells us just how important Aquaman is. Well, to Johns, anyway. To the movies, we’ll have to see. And until the movie comes out, we will continue to insist Momoa adhere to the single best performance of Aquaman in any media:
