Mad Max: Fury Road may end up being your favorite movie 10 years from now, and our own Mike Ryan said it might just be the perfect purist, raw action movie ever made. So, when a site that bills itself as “a blog for heterosexual, masculine men” — and says that “women and homosexuals are discouraged from commenting here” as part of their About page — posts an article calling for men’s rights activists to boycott Mad Max: Fury Road for all its evil feminism, you know how we’re going to react:
Here are a couple of choice quotes from an article we’ll only point to with a donotlink url.
Not only REFUSE to see the movie, but spread the word to as many men as possible. […] Because if they sheepishly attend and Fury Road is a blockbuster, then you, me, and all the other men (and real women) in the world will never be able to see a real action movie ever again that doesn’t contain some damn political lecture or moray about feminism, SJW-ing, and socialism.
Cool hyperbole and misuse of the word moray, bro.
It’s whether men in America and around the world are going to be duped by explosions, fire tornadoes, and desert raiders into seeing what is guaranteed to be nothing more than feminist propaganda, while at the same time being insulted AND tricked into viewing a piece of American culture ruined and rewritten right in front of their very eyes.
First: It’s Australian culture. Second: If it’s nothing more than feminist propaganda, it’s the most explodey, fire tornado besieged form of feminism, and I’m all for it.
