X-Men: Apocalypse is chock full of our favorite people. Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and Rose Byrne all return from X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past, and in case they’re not enough, Oscar Isaac and Sophie Turner joined the mutant fold as the titular Apocalypse and Jean Grey. But with all due respect to the Internet’s boyfriend, I’m most curious to see how Olivia Munn fares as Psylocke.
The Newsroom star should be a butt-kicking natural, and based on everything we (and Aaron Rodgers) have seen so far, she’s a welcome addition to the X-Men film canon. (Sidenote: I’m glad she’s in this movie, because now we can refer to her as “the X-Men: Apocalypse star,” not “the Newsroom star.”)
As a follow-up to Psylocke’s talents being on full display in the Super Bowl trailer, Munn, who described her character as a “telekinetic telepath who [kills] with a sword,” showed off her sword-handling skills to IGN. It’s rather impressive, and now she and Gob Bluth have something in common.
Fassbender better watch his hand.
