When it comes to autographing Star Wars merchandise for fans, actor Mark Hamill is a bona fide expert. The internet is already rife with proof of the real-life Luke Skywalker’s expertise on the matter, but when fans began tweeting images of items available for purchase supposedly signed by Hamill, he responded to each request. The Hollywood Reporter initially took notice of the actor’s rant-come-sermon on Sunday, which stretched across several tweets into the night.

Hamill began with an apology, both to his initial tweeter and to everyone else sending photos and requesting confirmation. “I’m so sorry there’s so many fans spending their hard-earned money for fraudulent signatures,” he wrote. Then the onslaught began.

At one point, Hamill indicated one fan’s pictured example of a real signature from a Return of the Jedi film still. “Memorize this REAL signature,” he said. “You can start spotting the phonies yourself!”

A fan later asked Hamill how he was able to respond to most of the requests without “getting tired of telling people the same thing about your signature.”

Like a boss, Hamill wrote that he “[owed] it to all true fans to protect them from being victimized by dishonest dealers.”

We already know that Luke is a badass, and that he’s going to help make Star Wars: Episode VIII a great sequel to The Force Awakens. But this? This — along with his charity work and viral stunts — only proves how much of a wonderful human being Hamill really is.
