A new year is upon us, so that means it’s time to start the hype train for this year’s Star Wars spin-off, Star Wars: Rogue One. Set before the events of Episode IV, Rogue One has a killer cast including Mads Mikkelsen, Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker and more, although we don’t know much about who they’re playing. Well, thanks to the sleuths at Making Star Wars (who have been dead-on about Star Wars details in the past) Mads Mikkelsen and Felicity Jones’ characters may be coming into focus.

According to Making Star Wars, Mads Mikkelsen will be a scientist named Galen who plays a key role in creating the Death Star. Stricken with guilt over becoming a literal destroyer of worlds, Mikkelsen’s character defects and begins plotting to destroy his own creation.
In order to get his hands on the plans to the Death Star, Mikkelsen’s character will have to team up with his daughter, played by Felicity Jones. Apparently Jones was originally going to play a bounty hunter or mercenary, but Making Star Wars speculates her role might have changed. Jones may instead be playing a scientist herself, who’s working as a secret operative within the Empire.
Of course, none of this information is confirmed, so take it all with a grain of salt, but these roles certainly jive with the “Star Wars meets Ocean’s Eleven” premise of Star Wars: Rogue One.
