Marvel Studios is a tightly run ship, but any ship that floats long enough will spring a leak. So, it appears that’s what happened with Marvel, as one of Daredevil‘s key writers has accidentally just revealed what role Rachel McAdams is up for.
/Film stumbled across it when asking why Rosario Dawson played a character named Claire Temple, instead of Night Nurse. Yes, there’s a superheroine called Night Nurse:
Daredevil fans might appreciate one trivia tidbit about why Rosario Dawson’s character on the show is Claire Temple, rather than Linda Carter, aka Night Nurse. The simple reason is that we might see Night Nurse in a Marvel movie!
“The feature side had plans for her down the road so that was the only time we ran into a conflict,” DeKnight said. “So we just used another name.”
Honestly, these aren’t hard dots to connect. Night Nurse’s only ties with any Marvel character getting a movie? Doctor Strange. Who just noted she’s negotiating taking the female lead on Doctor Strange? Rachel McAdams. It’s true that we see Night Nurse during Civil War, but that’s a minor role, and Marvel Studios seems to be playing a bit fast and loose with that particular crossover.
Although, admittedly, they might want to consider changing the name. Night Nurse is now a doctor and, besides, some people might get the wrong idea.
