A couple of months ago, Desiigner revealed the inspiration behind “Timmy Turner.” The answer is something fans of The Fairly OddParents knew the second he uttered the name of the show’s pint-sized protagonist. If this were any other age in history, that’s where the story would’ve ended and the Brooklyn rapper’s love for the Nickelodeon show would vanish into the ether, only to become the answer to some bar trivia.
But this is 2016 and we’ve got the internet so it was only a matter of time before the voice of Timmy Turner, Tara Strong, caught wind of the song and did something about it.
Thanks to Thomas Sanders, Vine star extraordinaire, you can now hear the actual Timmy Turner rap “Timmy Turner.”
Tara Strong is s a legend. Not only is she the voice of the aforementioned Turner, she’s also Batgirl, Dil Pickles, Bubbles from Powerpuff Girls, Bebe Proud, Raven from Teen Titans, Mary Jane Watson, Harley Quinn, and my personal favorite, Cindy McPherson from The Boondocks. Yes, the same little girl who lived by the simple code of “What would Beans do?” is also the reason Desiigner’s hit song exists. In a roundabout way, that makes all the sense in the world.
The next thing that needs to happen is Stronger and Desiigner in the same place. It’s 2016 and this is the internet after all, so it’s only a matter of time before that happens.
