Drake fans will once again be graced with the illustrious opportunity of soon seeing the 29-year-old rapper utilize his acting chops. Though, unfortunately, this doesn’t come in the form of a Jimmy Brooks reprisal, his highly teased video project is expected to be just as epic.
Earlier this month, Champagne Papi pointed to the upcoming video to his 27.1 million Instagram followers.

In two posts shared one after the other, the OVO boss revealed very limited information regarding some sort of visual supplement to his chart-topping and record-breaking album, Views. Essentially, all zealous Drizzy fans were given from these posts was an unhelpful timeline (COMING SOON) and the name of the project, Please Forgive Me.
However, this morning, the “Controlla” rhymer finally served some updated info to his hungry fans. In yet another post to his Instagram, Drake posted an image from presumably one of the sets of Please Forgive Me and confirmed the release date for this “short film” will be September 30.
Drake has previously been spotted trotting the globe filming videos for “One Dance,” “Controlla,” and “Child’s Play” and it seems, perhaps, fans won’t have to wait much longer to see the final result of these efforts. Yet, while Drake also confirmed in this morning’s Instagram that the mini movie features a score by Noah “40” Shebib, as well as direction from award winning director, Anthony Mandler, it’s unclear how the project will ultimately turn out.
In 2015, the Grammy Award-winning rapper released the short film Jungle that was used to preview music from his album, If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late and some have speculated Please Forgive Me will take a similar form.
Though there is still much to be hypothesized regarding this mysterious movie, luckily we only have to wait about one more month to have all of our burning questions answered. September 30 can’t come soon enough.
