Drake, Beyonce And Rihanna Lead The List Of 2016 BET Awards Nominees

Expect to hear Drake’s name mentioned many times at this year’s BET Awards. As the official, full list of nominees is revealed, The 6 God leads the way with nine nods including ones for ‘Best Male Hip Hop Artist,’ ‘Video of the Year,’ and ‘Best Collaboration’ for his joint effort with Future for “Where Ya At.”

Following right behind Drizzy are his frequent collaborator Rihanna and Beyonce, each lady singled out for five nominations. Beyonce and Rihanna are both in the running for ‘Best Female R&B/Pop Artist,’ ‘Video of the Year,’ and ‘Best Collaboration’ for “Feeling Myself” and “Work” respectively. Others landing multiple mentions are Chris Brown, newcomer Bryson Tiller and Future, who all were nominated in four categories.

This year’s show will also highlight the late legend Prince, Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Programming, said via press release. “This show will be innovative and special; in addition to celebrating the best in entertainment, we’ll also spend time throughout the show remembering Prince as only BET can. You can count on memorable performances and moments in honor of a true legend.”

The 2016 BET Awards will air live on Sunday, June 26 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Below, check out the complete list of nominees.
