Kodak Black may have a long legal road ahead of him.
Last week, it was reported the “Lockjaw” rapper wouldn’t be released from jail because of two warrants, one of which was out-of-state. This week, SPIN reported the out-of-state warrant was for an alleged sexual battery that took place in Florence, South Carolina. The incident supposedly happened on February 7th “at a hotel located at 2120 West Lucas Street.”
Originally, the judge agreed to release Kodak on one year of house arrest and five years probation, but he was kept once authorities found out the Floridian rapper had outstanding warrants. In addition to the South Carolina warrant, the other one was for “misdemeanor cannabis and paraphernalia charges” outside of Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Sexual battery is a first-degree felony in South Carolina, so the 19-year-old is going to be transported to Florence County for an arraignment hearing. Kodak, real name Dieuson Octave, was already serving a sentence for a litany of charges including robbery, false imprisonment, fleeing a law enforcement officer, and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
If he’s formally charged for the crime, it’ll be a difficult blow to career that seems to have so much promise. Still, cases of sexual assault and battery are serious charges so one hopes for his sake, those allegations are false.
