Just a day after his brand new song “Bring It Back,” from his upcoming debut album Teenage Emotions, made its way out into the public, Lil Yachty decided to share a brand new video as well. Keeping in touch with the overall ’80s aesthetic of the song itself, the video has a decidedly vintage vibe, finding Yachty hitting up an old school prom, posing for pictures, singing, and dancing with the other teens in attendance.
In a recent interview with Genius from a couple of weeks back, Yachty tipped his hand a bit to all the ’80s sounds and vibes he was bringing to his latest project. “[Its] kind of got an ’80s, ’90s vibe on some of the tracks,” he said. “It’s called Teenage Emotions so it caters to a teenager’s everyday lifestyle: heartbreak, happiness, that vibe of when you’re waking up in the morning, getting dressed and want to dance. It’s not just bars or straight mumble rap, it goes down different lanes. I be rapping real hard on this one, I be pop singing on this, and I be talking about being lost in love on this one.”
If the new video weren’t enough of a reason to celebrate, Yachty also revealed that he’s going on a full-scale tour later this month. The run of dates kicks off in Dallas, Texas on August 11th. You can check out the full dates from the poster he shared below.
