On Sunday, September 18, rapper Travi$ Scott was hospitalized for dehydration. The G.O.O.D. Music artist’s manager, David Stromberg, posted a photo of the Travi$ sleeping in his hospital bed with the single-worded caption, “Sunday,” to the alarm of his fans. However, Stromberg reassured the fans that the “Pick up the Phone” rapper would be okay by writing in the comments “He’s fine. He was just dehydrated.”
Although some fans speculated the hospitalization was caused by a drug overdose or too much partying, Scott’s had a whirlwind few weeks. His sophomore studio album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight was released in early September to positive reviews and debuted strong on the Billboard 200 and Rap Albums charts as the fifth Apple Music exclusive to reach no. 1 this year. The “Antidote” singer even released a behind-the-scenes documentary called La Flame to chronicle the experience.
At the time of publishing, neither Scott nor his manager have shared an update about the rapper’s condition. Hopefully he’ll get well soon, because with tour dates in Australia soon — he’s performing at three dates on the Listen Out Festival starting September 24, followed by headlining shows in Melbourne and Sydney — his hectic life isn’t about to slow down anytime in the near future.
