Fast National ratings for Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
The 10th installment of “America's Got Talent” was down 13 percent from last year's premiere, while the launch of “I Can Do That!” came in below last year's launch for “The Night Shift,” but NBC still dominated Tuesday in all measures.
Tuesday was a night of summer roll-outs, as FOX got a lackluster time period premiere for “Hell's Kitchen” and a weak return for the long-absent “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader,” while ABC's “Extreme Weight Loss” return failed to make a dent.
Over on The CW, in only its second airing without a new “Flash” as lead-in, The CW's “iZombie” was impressively stable.
Let's get to the numbers…
Among adults 18-49, NBC averaged a 2.3 rating for Tuesday night, more than doubling FOX's 1.0 rating in the key demographic. ABC and CBS both averaged a 0.9 key demo rating for third, while The CW averaged a 0.5 key demo rating for the night.
Overall, NBC averaged an estimated 9.455 million viewers and a 5.6 rating/10 share for Tuesday primetime, far ahead of the 7.22 million viewers and 4.8/8 for second place CBS. ABC was third with 3.5 million viewers and a 2.3/4, followed by FOX's 2.1/3 and 3.3 million viewers. The CW averaged 1.76 million viewers and a 1.1/2 for the night.
8 p.m. – The first hour of “America's Got Talent” averaged 10.46 million viewers and a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 for NBC in the 8 p.m. frame. CBS' “NCIS” repeat was second with 8.46 million viewers and third with a 1.0 key demo rating. ABC's “500 Questions” remained consistent with 4.73 million viewers and a 1.1 key demo rating, ahead of the 3.31 million viewers and 0.8 key demo rating for FOX's “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader.” The CW's “The Flash” repeat averaged 1.67 million viewers and a 0.4 key demo rating.
9 p.m. – “America's Got Talent” rose a bit to 11.39 million viewers and a 2.8 rating among adults 18-49 for NBC in the 9 p.m. hour. CBS' “NCIS: New Orleans” repeat averaged 7.58 million viewers for second and a 0.9 key demo rating for third. FOX's “Hell's Kitchen” averaged 3.29 million viewers and a 1.1 key demo rating, topping the 2.77 million viewers and 0.8 key demo rating for the first hour of ABC's “Extreme Weight Loss.” A new “iZombie” averaged 1.85 million viewers and a 0.6 key demo rating.
10 p.m. – The premiere of “I Can Do That” averaged 6.51 million viewers and a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49 for NBC. [You can see the drop from “AGT,” while the 10:30 half-hour was down to 5.77 million viewers and a 1.6 key demo rating.] CBS' “48 Hours” averaged 5.62 million viewers to top the 3.01 million viewers for ABC's “Extreme Weight Loss,” while both shows averaged a 0.9 key demo rating.
