Anthony Bourdain never slows down. The “bad boy” of the culinary world recently launched the seventh season of Parts Unknown, is about to drop a cookbook of recipes that every chef should know, and just announced that he’s going on a 12 city tour with a new stand-up/storytelling/Q&A show called The Hunger.
Here’s the cover of Bourdain’s new book, which will probably give you some idea of what the show will be like. Most impressive? It was created by Ralph Steadman, whose work you might recognize from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas:
According to Eater, the live show will be an “unyielding and brutally honest” monologue about Bourdain’s experiences, street cuisine, and culture. It’s a follow-up to his incredibly successful show Close to the Bone and will feature not only the monologue but a chance for audience members to pepper Bourdain with questions about his life and his work. No word on whether he’ll be signing copies of his book, but considering that at least one of the events is occurring at a bookstore, it’s possible that fans will be able to both ask a question and get their copy of Appetites signed at the same time.
Where and when can you see the famed chef live? Here’s a list of all his stops:

If you have a few moments now, though, you can click over to the tour’s official website and sign up to get a pre-sale code for the city nearest you. Or you could sign up for all of them? Who knows, maybe there are Bourdain groupies out there who will hit every performance and ask a different question each time. Maybe one of those people will be Guy Fieri, who will arrive in disguise, only to ask Bourdain “why do you suck so much?” during the Q&A portion. Who wouldn’t pay to see that?
Eater points out that Bourdain’s new book–which is his “most personal” since Kitchen Confidential–isn’t just for those highly skilled in the kitchen. Instead, Appetites, focuses on making sure that anyone who’s trying to master the art of cooking (at home) is able to make dishes that everyone should have in their arsenal.
