The Internet Is Working Together To Score One Man Free Nuggets For A Year

As scripture predicted, the internet can be a cruel, creepy and sometimes sticky place. Blessedly, there is also beauty on the internet. This man’s quest for nugget gluttony and the social media service that enables his dream provide a glimpse at the beauty of what humanity can offer. YUP, IT’S A FAST FOOD CHALLENGE STORY! *rings deep-fried bell*

On Twitter, fast food titan Wendy’s was presented with a question in need of an answer. Take it away, Mr. Carter Wilkinson.

“Yo @Wendys how many retweets for a year of free chicken nuggets?” asked this American hero.

Surprisingly, there was an official answer from the burger joint.

Carter has taken Wendy’s up on their challenge for the glory of nuggets. If 18 million sounds like it’s a lot of retweets that’s because 18 million is a lot of retweets. Ellen’s oft-spoofed Oscar selfie is the reigning retweet champ with 3.2 million retweets. Essentially, Carter’s nugget lust would have smash the world record by an insane margin to do it. These odds did not deter Carter. THEY EMBOLDENED HIM!

As this post goes live, Carter’s breaded hail mary has racked up over 581K retweets in under 24 hours. Not quite Ellen + Celebrity Buds numbers, but clearly the desire to enter a kingdom of nugget heaven is something that’s made its way into Twitter’s dream lovin’ heart. Godspeed, Carter. Godspeed.
