What’s an average day for Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, the man behind The Mountain, like? Well, outside of playing with fuzzy little puppies, eating seven chickens in one sitting, hanging out with lions, carrying refrigerators, sparring with Conor McGregor, throwing beer kegs, breaking 1,000-year-old weightlifting records, and playing tug-of-war with a tractor, as one does, the Game of Thrones star likes to work out, eat, work out some more, eat, and eat again. That’s a packed 24 hours for the average person, but there’s nothing average about Björnsson — he’s the freaking Mountain, and he really wants you to enjoy his vodka, Icelandic Mountain Vodka. And if you don’t love it?
You should really love his vodka. According to Mountain Vodka, which is my new favorite website and homepage, Icelandic Mountain Vodka is “distilled seven times so it feels extra smooth while still standing strong at 40 percent alcohol.” It’s also “made with pure Icelandic water and is gluten-free.”
Vodka is just the beginning, though.
We have a production plan for the upcoming years and we have new products already on the drawing board. The Icelandic Mountain Vodka is the first out of four products that we have tied together. The products are based on the old Icelandic legends of the guardians or the Icelandic Spirits. The giant (Mountain Vodka), the dragon, the eagle, and the bull. Legends say that these mythological creatures are the guardians that protect Iceland from its enemies. (Via Mountain Vodka)
The dragon, eagle, and bull are shots, gin, and rum, respectively; they’re “coming soon.” Björnsson will be disappointed if you don’t buy at least four bottles of each. Anything less would be a… shame.
