One reason people go to Hibachi restaurants is because they are given the opportunity to observe chefs as they demonstrate their cooking methods in what is normally a visually stunning and interactive experience.
James and Isabelle Lassiter, however, who were visiting the Murfreesboro, Tennessee restaurant Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse, alerted the authorities after being offended by the antics of a playful chef, who squirted Isabelle in the face with a whimsical plastic toy in the shape of a (anatomically incorrect) little boy. Similar to a squirt gun, the apparatus shoots a stream of water when its “pants” are pulled down.

Instead of laughing it off like most of the restaurants’ patrons, the Lassiters, who were visiting from Texas, claimed that it was “sexual assault,” though they did not press charges against the restaurant. Later, while interviewed by local reporters about the incident, they elaborated:
“It peed on me, basically,” said Isabelle, detailing further, “Out of its wee-wee area…It really didn’t have a wiener, but you got the point.”
Her husband condemned the act by stating, “It was a sexual-style assault on my wife. Just because somebody cut off a piece of plastic, okay, it’s not there anymore, doesn’t change the fact that you’re getting peed on.”
General manager of Wasabi, Johnny Huang, said that most of the restaurant patrons, including small children, find the gimmick humorous, but in the future he will make sure to get permission in advance from customers before showing the toy.
