Oh boy, this Bethe Correia/Ronda Rousey saga continues to get intense. This time, the undefeated challenger was on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour to talk about her opponent at UFC 190, the similarly flawless champ, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey. Through an interpreter, Bethe said:
“Ronda, you’re not the super hero you think you are. You are a farce, and I’ll prove it on August first. I’ll give you the biggest beating of your life, I’ll make you suffer pain, I’ll make you cry of pain, I’ll humiliate you, and make you leave your belt here. You’re not a champion, I’m a champion. I invite you to try out your MMA game, because your judo is not going to work here. I’m going to beat you up and everyone is going to see it.”
While that might seem like standard trash-talk before a fight, the things Correia has been saying — whether she’s apologized for them or not — have hit very close to home. We’ll see if Bethe can back up her words on August 1 at UFC 190, as one of these women’s undefeated marks will be gone.
