UFC Fight Night 79 started way too early on Saturday. The first fight was at 5AM ET, a welterweight contest between “Non-Stop, Action-Packed” Dominique Steele and “Maestro” Dong Hyun Kim. The first round was pretty awesome, with both guys engaging in a wild brawl.
Steele, a former middleweight, eventually managed to use his size and wrestling on Kim, a lightweight stepping up in weight class on short notice in the second. Dominique dominated much of that round with top control and ground and pound. In the third round, Steele again went for wrestling, and managed to hoist Kim on his shoulder and deliver a huge spine buster-esque slam that Arn Anderson would have been proud of. Dominique followed up with some huge elbows, but Dong Hyun was already out cold.
Congrats on the win, Dom!
