Hey combat sports enthusiasts, and general Ronda Rousey fans! UFC 193, live from Melbourne, Australia is here, so that means it’s Live Discussion time. The event kicks off at 6:15PM ET Saturday night on UFC Fight Pass with the early prelims. Ben Ngyuen and Ryan Benoit are two really exciting flyweights, so they should start the event with fast-paced activity and action.
The regular prelims will start at 8PM ET on Fox Sports 1 in the US. There are a ton of local Aussie fighters, like Richie Vaculik taking on Danny Martinez in flyweight action, plus Anthony Perosh meeting Gian Villante at light heavyweight. The prelims finish up with hot young prospect Jake Matthews squaring off against Akbarh Arreola in a lightweight contest.
The main card, exclusively on pay per view, will start at 10PM ET with a heavyweight clash between Stefan Struve and Jared Rosholt. From there, we’ve got Uriah Hall stepping up on short notice to face Robert Whittaker, with the winner edging closer to the top 10 in the middleweight division. After that, it’s back to heavyweight and a rematch, as Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva faces Mark Hunt. Their first fight, a five-round draw is an all-time great fight, but was later tarnished when Silva failed a drug test, giving him a no contest.
The co-main event is the first of two title fights, with strawweight striking ace Joanna Jedrzejczyk defends her title for the second time against Valerie “Trouble” Letourneau. The main event is a bantamweight clash between two undefeated fighters, as Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm looks to upset “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey and leave Melbourne as the new champion.
Join the Uproxx Sports family for a fun live discussion of the entire card. There will be jokes, in-depth analysis (CITATION NEEDED) and typed cusses when the action gets too crazy.
