Heavyweight boxing champion and self proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury has always been an interesting personality. That shines through in fun ways, like when he showed up for a press conference with Wladimir Klitschko dressed like Batman. But behind the zany persona there was also a darker side to his erratic behavior, and just recently a second fight with Klitschko was called off due to issues with Fury’s mental health.
Keeping all that in mind, we don’t know whether to be amused or further concerned by this latest back and forth from Fury that went down this morning on Twitter:
Boxing is the saddest thing I ever took part in, all a pile of shit, I'm the greatest, & I'm also retired, so go suck a dick, happy days.😀😀😀

All in all, Tyson’s ‘retirement’ lasted all of four hours, even shorter than UFC star Conor McGregor’s recent retirement fake-out. We’d say don’t pay attention to anything regarding retirement coming out of Twitter, since these statements rarely seem to stick for longer than a few days. But with Tyson’s current mental condition being a concern and the World Boxing Organisation looking to strip him of their heavyweight belt, we hope those around Fury are paying attention and taking this seriously. Someone needs to make sure he’s getting the help he needs so he doesn’t ruin his career and perhaps life during this troubling period.
